Our Secret:
Je le vigne vecie che fa el vin bon
"It is the old vines that make good wine"
Our Roots
Where it all began
Our story begins in 1945 with Gino Marchi, a courageous and determined man, “de soca”, as we say in our region.
Having returned on foot from the Russian front as a war veteran, he decided to rebuild the small family vineyard, laying the foundations for our winery.

The Intuition
The Secret of our wine
Franco Marchi, one of Gino’s sons, along with his children Diego, Davide, and Luca, continues the quest to achieve what the family believes should be the wine that best represents the uniqueness of the territory.
After three generations of passion and attempts, they discover what will become the secret of Marchi wines, a secret that Grandfather Gino had always upheld:
“Je le vigne vecie che fa el vin bon”

The Secret
"It is the old vines that make good wine"
Just as with people, it is through the right maturity that great results are achieved with vines.
To produce the traditional reds of Valpolicella, the Marchi family has no doubt that the vineyards must be at least 10 years old.
For Amarone della Valpolicella, the vineyard cannot be younger than 20 years.
Only from this foundation can the original scents of a unique territory be expressed.
Our Philosophy
Time
is a serious matter
We named the Cantina Marchi to honor the hard work of past generations that continues through family dedication.
We chose an hourglass that resembles an “M” as a symbol of our respect for time.
Because it is the time in the vineyard that creates our wines. It is the time in the cellar that makes them unique. It is the time we dedicate to people that enriches us with experience.
We want our wines to be time dedicated to the pleasure of living.
Divine Time.
